Opinion polls show that Slovenia's January-June EU presidency has increased local support for regional, EU-focused policies. We are generally encouraged by Slovenia's performance as EU president, which demonstrated solid institutional capabilities. However, more important for political stability going forward will be the outcome of the forthcoming general elections, which is looking increasing likely to be inconclusive for any single party.
