At the 4th PetroCaribe Summit, to be held in Venezuela on July 12, the rising price of fuel is likely to be high on the agenda. Country representatives will also discuss possible solutions to the rising cost of food stemming from the global food crisis. According to the Venezuelan Ambassador to Guyana, Dario Morandy, Venezuela is proposing the construction of a gas pipeline to run though Guyana to Suriname as an effort to guarantee the supply of gas to the two countries. The project is expected to foster stronger ties of integration and economic sovereignty between Guyana, Venezuela and Suriname,
