The Paraguayan economy continues to overheat as the Banco Central del Paraguay (BCP) remains intent on preventing currency appreciation. The guarani has appreciated by 16% year-to-date, from PYG4,700/US$ to PYG3,935/US$ thanks to the dramatic surge in soybean prices.
