June 2008 | Ratings UpdatePrime Minister Patrick Manning has criticised the opposition United National Congress (UNC) for trying to slow the government down. The opposition have been calling for the removal of Gordon Deane as head of the Commission of Enquiry into the affairs of the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) - a corruption investigation concerning misuse of public funds. We are concerned that a drawn out enquiry could damage the country's reform drive at a time when crime is becoming an increasing problem.
