Debt Buyback Reflects Solid Performance

BMI View: The government's decision to launch a US$500mn exchange offer on its external liabilities is a sign of sensible debt management, in our view. Furthermore, the reopening of longer-dated bonds due in 2029 speaks volumes about the growing investor confidence in the economy on the back of a strong growth and fiscal performance.
