Fitch Confirms Investment Grade Status

Following Fitch's decision to bump up Brazil's sovereign credit rating one notch to BBB-, a move that comes less than a month after a similar upgrade by Standard & Poor's (S&P), the country can now truly be considered part of the investment grade elite. While Fitch's announcement was a poorly-kept secret (the market had been expecting an upgrade for weeks), the move itself is by no means insignificant.
