Chile's IMACEC economic activity index rose to 4.8% y-o-y in April, exceeding expectations, following a month of six-year low growth. This is an encouraging development in light of the 20-day strikes at Chile's largest copper mines, and helps to mitigate concerns about a more pronounced slowdown of the economy this year.
