April 2008 | Ratings UpdateWhile the potential successors to President Manuel Zelaya have yet to stake their claim, we are expecting another tight contest between the ruling Partido Liberal de Honduras (PLH) and the opposition Partido Nacional de Honduras (PNH) - the 2005 election was won by roughly 68,500 votes, equivalent to 1.7% of the registered electorate. The government has been on the defensive following a series of embarrassing incidents and several government shake ups in 2007 hardly inspire confidence.
