Inflation is fast-becoming a major concern for the Jamaican economy. February's consumer price inflation (CPI) reading was a record high at 19.9% y-o-y, and prompted us to reassess our end-2008 forecast, which was previously 8.0%. We now see the CPI ending the year at 12.0%, although stress that even at this level the risks seem weighted to the upside.
