CentAm: Equity Markets Playing Catch Up
March 2008 | Economic AnalysisBMI View: It is becoming increasingly plain to us that Central America's equity markets are not evolving as quickly as had been hoped. Despite ongoing efforts to launch a regional bourse, local stocks remain illiquid and trading on the secondary market is virtually non-existent. Given the endemic problems facing regional financial integration, we do not expect an improvement anytime soon.
