Inflation rose 1.3% month-on-month in December, way below the 2.7% recorded in the same month of the previous year, causing a sharp fall in year-end annual inflation to 6.0%. This compares favourably to 12.5% at end-2006 and 12.0% just two months before the end of 2007.
