BMI View: The number of air arrivals into the Dominican Republic from January to August 2007 barely increased from the same period a year earlier, ticking up by 0.21% y-o-y to 3.15mn. This is a possible sign that the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), which requires US citizens to carry a valid passport when travelling to the region, is beginning to bite.
