Although the DR-CAFTA referendum has come and gone, with the 'yes' side emerging successful, our political risk rating for Costa Rica -a regional-best 81.5 -remains unchanged. There has been no move up after the referendum (as typically happens in our ratings following an important vote) because we believe that the nearly evenly-split vote reveals that president Oscar Arias' support may have slipped in the past few months.
