Corruption Is Rife

High-profile politician, and possible future candidate for the Honduran presidency, Porfirio Lobos recently attacked the current government over its poor record of corruption, publicly stating that the current President Manual Zelaya, needed to address the high level of corruption that exists within his government. According to our newly updated Business environment ratings, in the 'corruptions' category, Honduras ranks 111th out of 176 countries covered. Indeed, this serves to highlight the rise in corruption which has penetrated most levels of the administration, and we are concerned that it could weigh on the efficiency of the political and economic reform agenda.
