Business Environment Risk: A Disappointing Outturn
September 2007 | Risk SummaryOur new business environment (BE) ratings show only a marginal increment in Mexico's to 54.8 from 52.8 last year. In terms of rankings, it has notched up one place to 53rd out of a possible 167. While this still puts the country ahead of the Latin American average of 47.5, the results were still somewhat disappointing. The main shortcomings are focussed within the 'institutions' category, which scores a below-par 49.7.
