BMI View: According to Peru's statistical agency (INEI), economic activity came in at an impressive 8.33% y-o-y in May, marking its fastest outturn since January. While the Peruvian economy has benefited from inflated prices for its commodity exports, which has helped to consolidate the external sector, the main drivers of economic activity were infrastructure, manufacturing and consumption-related investment.
