New CPI Basket Bad For Inflation
July 2007 | Economic AnalysisBMI View: Rising oil and food prices are driving up the Nicaraguan Consumer Price Index (CPI), which recorded a 9.46% y-o-y rise in June. Although our year-end inflation target remains at 8.5%, we stress the potential for this to come in higher given the upcoming revision of the consumer price basket, which will increase the weighting given to food.
