July 2007 | Ratings UpdateWith a general election due as early as next year, the country's third largest political party, the Partido Reformista Social Cristiano (PRSC), could be in danger of imploding. According to local reports, the recently defeated candidate Eduardo Estrella could be tempted to run for the presidency with another party - a scenario which could cause internal division within the PRSC and seriously dent its election aspirations. In our view, this news further supports incumbent President Leonel Fernández's bid to secure a third term in office.
