June 2007 | Macroeconomic ForecastsBMI View: CPI came in at 0.30% m-o-m in May, the lowest outturn since December 2006. On an annual basis, CPI slowed to 6.23% from 6.26% in April, the first time inflation has eased since October last year. Recently, the key driver of inflation has been higher food prices, a factor exacerbated by increasing external demand, particularly from neighbouring Venezuela.
