The indictment of four men - three from Guyana - on allegations of plotting to blow up New York's JFK airport has sent shockwaves throughout the country. One of the suspects, Abdul Kadir, is a former parliamentarian for the main opposition party, The People's National Congress Reform (PNCR), prompting some fears of the infiltration of extremists. The PNCR and Muslim leaders have been quick to speak out against the alleged terror plot, but the latest revelations could increase racial tensions in an already divided nation. On the plus side, the exposure of the plot demonstrates improved co-operation between the US
