Remittances Hold The Key

BMI View: The dependence on remittances from overseas workers places the Honduran economy at risk from a slowdown in these flows. Should remittance growth follow the regional trend, as is feared, we may be forced to revise downwards our year-end real GDP growth forecast, which currently stands at 6.0%.
