IMF Thumbs Up For Fernández
June 2007 | Ratings UpdateAn IMF statement released in May paid tribute to the government and central bank for their 'prudent' fiscal and monetary strategies, the upshot of which has been a resurgence in real GDP growth and macroeconomic stability. As the accompanying article explains, we agree that the administration of President Leonel Fernández has played a major role in pulling the economy out of the danger zone, and encouraging increased investment into local industries.
