Free Trade By August?
May 2007 | Market StrategyBMI View: After US President George W. Bush and leaders from the Democratic party came to an agreement to include enforceable labour and environmental provisions in pending free trade pacts, a successful Panama deal looks increasingly likely. Should Panama accept the recent changes, the US congress could be in a position to ratify the accord as early as August, although approval is by no means a certainty.
