Modest Q1 Outturn

BMI View: Economic growth eased to 3.7% y-o-y in Q107, below the level recorded in the same period of 2006, and casting further doubts over the supposed boost provided by the Cricket World Cup (CWC). While we expect most of the economic benefits of hosting the tournament to be realised in Q2 and Q3, the latest data has prompted us to lower our growth expectations for this year, to 4.3% from a previous 5.0%.
