Social Tensions Weigh On Ratings

Guyana's short-term political risk rating is down from 60.0 to 59.2 under our new ratings system, making it the most politically risky country in Latin America. While policy continuity scores relatively well, with constitutional change unlikely after the government retained power last August, the poor overall showing is largely due to the high level of social instability.
