Sugar: The New Fuel For Growth?
May 2007 | Economic AnalysisBMI View: Though potentially costly in the short-term, the development of ethanol as a biofuel has considerable potential in Guyana, and could provide the economy (and ailing sugarcane industry) with a valuable boost. That said, turning these theoretical benefits into reality will require improved collaboration, efficiency, and institutional capacity among key public and private institutions.
