Despite the prospect of elections within the next twelve months, Barbados is a front runner in our new political ratings universe. A score of 80.0 for short-term political risk reflects a strong and united government, little in the way of public discontent, and few threats to security. When an election date is announced, and the vote draws nearer, we would expect this score to fall somewhat, due to the increase in uncertainty over policy continuity.
