May 2007 | Risk SummaryFormer opposition leader Michael Baptiste claims to have presented Grenadian local media with evidence of bribery between Prime Minister Keith Mitchell and jailed conman Erik Resteiner. The allegations relate to the 2000 Switzerland briefcase bribery affair, and could potentially see the Grenadian leader in a criminal investigation. This news has come only a month after former attorney general and political commentator Lloyd Noel had denounced the government as morally corrupt. In a weekly publication Noel commented on the role the Grenadian people must play in fighting corruption, and said the days of blind trust and submissive confidence must be replaced
