A New Latin Lender Emerges

BMI View: The new Banco del Sur initiative - led by Venezuela and Argentina - could become a useful new source of finance for the certain Latin American countries, accelerating economic development and regional integration. However, the new bank will require efficient and transparent governance to be effective, and will need to operate independently of politics if it is to gain international credibility.
