The Field Narrows

The list of candidates for the presidential election in October shortened after several other opposition leaders withdrew their candidacies. At this point, it appears that either incumbent Nestor Kirchner or his wife, Senator Cristina Fernández, will run against former economy minister Roberto Lavagna, That said, such a scenario is far from assured, and even if it were realised, Kirchner (or Fernández) would remain our favourite to win.
