BMI View: Now that final data for 2006 has begun to emerge, it is becoming easier to gauge the trajectory of the Uruguayan economy. The trade deficit came in US$160mn narrower than we had estimated, at US$742mn, as the level of exports surprised somewhat to the upside thanks to strong Argentine and US demand.
