Promising 2007 Growth Outlook

According to data provided by the Central Bank of Barbados (CBB), real GDP grew by 3.7% y-o-y during the first nine months of 2006, which marked a noticeable recovery from 2005, when the economy expanded by 2.6% y-o-y during the same time period. The robust performance between January and September 2006 was due to the strong growth of the non-traded sector. This was mainly driven by the construction and transportation sectors, which rose by 9.5% y-o-y and 8.0% y-o-y respectively on the back of ongoing
