Honduran President Manual Zelaya met with recently elected Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega to discuss Central American integration. Both parties will take this opportunity to deal with issues such as corruption, crime and the fight against poverty. Furthermore, Ortega suggested that both countries should co-operate to exploit natural resources located on their borders. Should these talks prove successful, this will not only help to improve regional integration, but it could lead to more regional co-operation. Moreover, Honduran Vice chancellor Enrique Reina, claimed this meeting would also help Ortega seek political rapprochement with the rest of the countries in the region,
