Data released by Chilean statistical agencies revealed that economic activity surprised on the downside in September. Industrial production fell for the first time this year, declining by 2.6% y-o-y. Retail sales also slowed to 4.2% y-o-y in the month of September after having performed well in August (growing by 6.2% y-o-y).
