Kirchner Still Going Strong
October 2006 | Ratings UpdateAccording to the latest polls in September, Nestor Kirchner would gain 57.4% of all votes if the elections were held today. Contrarily, Mauricio Macri and Roberto Lavagna would only receive 12.3% and 7.9% of all votes respectively. At the same time, Vice President Daniel Scioli announced that he will run for mayor of Buenos Aires next year. Scioli already enjoys considerable popularity in the city, and his electoral victory would prove very beneficial for Kirchner's political influence over the richest and politically most important district in the country.
