Public Support Falling
September 2006 | Ratings UpdateSupport for the ruling People's National Party could be on the wane, according to a recent poll conducted by the daily newspaper The Gleaner. Of those surveyed, only 38% would vote for the PNP in the next general election, down from 44% in May and 52% in March 2006. During this period, public opinion of the Jamaican Labour Party (JLP) has stayed constant at 26%.
