Mascoll Crosses The Floor
February 2006 | Ratings UpdateFormer leader of the opposition Democratic Labour Party (DLP), Clyde Mascoll, recently crossed the floor to become a member of Prime Minister Owen Arthur's Barbados Labour Party (BLP). Mascoll's departure will strengthen party solidarity and should give the DLP ample time to prepare itself for the next general election (due by 2008). Mascoll's role in the BLP has yet to be decided, but there has been speculation that he will be given a junior ministerial position in Prime Minister Arthur's cabinet.
