Thousands Sign Up For TPS

More than 77,000 Hondurans living and working in the US have signed up to the temporary protection status scheme, known as TPS, which was recently extended by the US government. This is the sixth extension of a scheme that was first introduced in the wake of the devastation left behind by Hurricane Mitch in November 1998. This will create stability not only among the expatriot community, but also for the thousands of households back home which depend on the remittances sent back from the US.
