Macroeconomic Forecast Honduras

June 2006 | Macroeconomic Forecasts

BMI View: Coffee exports were up 8.9% in May 2006, according to the growers' association, mainly due to improved fertilisation by the farmers, as well as to the cycle of the plantations. Exports for the first eight months of the current season were reported to be 17% higher than in the same period last season. Meanwhile, with inflation running at 9.8% y-o-y in April, we are adjusting our year-end forecast for 2006-07. High world oil prices will continue to force up domestic prices, such as transport and food stuffs.
