For the time being, Venezuela remains a relatively attractive credit, with high levels of foreign exchange reserves and a demonstrated commitment to debt servicing, supported by firm oil prices. But the government's expansionary fiscal stance and unorthodox macro management pose longer-term risks that make the country a far-from-ideal lender of last resort.
