Despite winning Mexico's presidential election by a solid 6.7 percentage point margin on July 1, we believe allegations of widespread vote buying and vehement student opposition have started to eat away at the potency of Enrique Peña Nieto's public mandate in recent weeks. Since July 12, Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) candidate, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, has sought to invalidate the election, alleging that the PRI engaged in substantial vote-buying.
