BMI View: After Guatemala's Partido Patriota-controlled legislature managed to successfully pass a number of reforms within the first two months of 2012, a more unified opposition party indicates an increased likelihood of prolonged congressional deadlock in the coming months. This suggests that, as with his predecessor, recently elected President Otto PĂ©rez Molina will struggle to implement his agenda.
