External Account Outlook Still Cautious
May 2012 | Economic AnalysisBMI View: Despite our forecast for Trinidad and Tobago to post a 13.7% of GDP current account surplus in 2012, we maintain our cautious outlook towards the country's external accounts over the medium term. Indeed, a reliance on the energy sector and a failure to diversify its export markets implies that structural external accounts weakness persists.
