Election Results: Policy Continuity

The Dominican Republic will see another administration ruled by the Partido de la LiberaciĆ³n Dominicana (PLD), following Daniel Medina's recent victory in the presidential elections, and we believe the country's growth story will benefit from the resulting policy continuity. However, while we expect real GDP to remain above 4% over the next few years, we still believe Medina is unlikely to reverse the country's path of high unemployment and energy dependence.
