Lack Of Reform To Weigh On Growth

BMI View: Presidential ambition and heavy handed tactics have eroded the possibility of much-needed reform in Panama for the remainder of President Ricardo Martinelli's term in office. While the expansion of the Panama Canal is likely to continue boosting growth and investment in the short term, eventually we see this lack of reform as likely to limit the country's potential for expansion in the long term.
