BMI View: Paraguay's 2011 real GDP growth came in at 4.0% according to preliminary estimates of the central bank, well below the 15.0% recorded in 2010 and spot on our forecast. Weaker exports and base effects are among the key factors accounting for the slowdown in growth. For 2012, we expect real GDP growth in the country to moderate slightly to 3.1%, as the country's export sector will struggle to regain competitiveness.
