February 2012 | Ratings UpdateSantos Ramirez, former chief executive officer of Bolivia's state-owned energy company, Yacimientos Petroliferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), was sentenced to twelve years in prison on corruption charges in late January, according to local news reports. Ramirez was convicted of accepting a $450,000 bribe from Argentine firm Catler Uniservice in exchange for awarding a US$86mn contract to build a liquefied natural gas plant.
