During Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar's state visit to India in early January, the Prime Minister and her Indian counterpart agreed to strengthen political, economic and cultural ties between the two nations. Furthermore, they signed a bilateral air services agreement to establish flights between the two countries, a longstanding goal for T&T. India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also highlighted that both public and private sector companies had expressed interest in T&T's energy sector, according to local news reports. Closer political and economic ties with India could boost investment into T&T's economy, bolstering its growth outlook.
