We especially highlight the main opposition Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI)'s aggressive stance in favour of petroleum sector liberalisation as highly supportive of growth, while the Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD)'s unwillingness to liberalise the industry would likely contribute to continued weakness in the country's fiscal and current accounts.
