Weak But Stable External Accounts Ahead

BMI View: We believe the Bahamas's external accounts will remain stable in the coming years, though we forecast the current account deficit to weaken from 10.3% of GDP in 2011 to 10.7% in 2012 due to rising imports and a struggling travel sector. However, strong direct investment underpins the country's balance of payments and our relatively constructive outlook.
